Kahoot - This website is designed as a teaching and learning tool for students who would like to reinforce concepts learned in class. Students can participate as “players” in games or they can choose to create their own to share with others based on the information that they have learned.

 

Quizizz - This website is designed to be an asynchronous learning experience. Students can easily search topics, chapters, concepts and be directed to high quality reviews that will benefit their learning and growth. Although most suited for review and reinforcement, Quizizz is a fantastic way to build sight recognition of important facts and ideas. 

 

Gimkit - This website is designed to allow students to strategize to succeed by not only answering questions correctly within the game but use “power ups” to their advantage and other player’s disadvantage. Students find these games hilariously frustrating and incredibly engaging at the same time. Games stimulate multitasking and strategizing based on the mode that is chosen to start each game.

 

PearDeck - This website utilizes 21st century tools to have students work as a team to build understanding of course concepts through the use of drawing, designing, defining, etc. Although this site is best suited for classroom instruction, once mastered students can use it independently to grow their thinking.

 

Purpose Games - This website is a fantastic resource for memorization of geographical locations or labeled images that students have to recall in order to be successful. Most often I use this site to challenge students to memorize locations on a map of a location that we are studying. This assists as a reference point to other locations that they may already know about and understand.

 

Google Expeditions - This website is a repository of VR expeditions that Google has curated for educational purposes. While headsets are desired in order to fully experience the expeditions capabilities, students with only a smartphone can experience the expeditions without a headset.   

 

BreakoutEDU - This website houses breakout and digital breakout lessons that guide students through a series of questions and clues in order to “Breakout” of a fictitious scenario typically related to the concept of topic of class discussion. Students can work individually or in small teams to complete the challenge. Each Breakout is timed and students are allowed hints if stuck on a concept.

 

SHEG - This website designed by Stanford History Education Group offers students primary source documents and engagement activities on topics that relate to a realm of historical topics. The courses and documents that relate to US History and Ancient World History are easily accessed and readily available for students and parents.

 

TeachTCI - This website houses my course textbooks. While we don’t cover every chapter in the text, there are a ton of fantastic resources that students and parents can use in order to enrich student learning. 

 

Ableton - This website is the home of my Digital Audio Workstation software that I used to create music. I have won a grant through Ableton Education that provided 90 licenses to me and my students in order to teach them how to produce and record music electronically. The website refers people to Ableton approved resources that help potential musicians and students learn their software.
